Carie Dever Boaz, WHS 1986

Carie Dever was known as a fierce competitor during her years in sports at Woodlake High School.  She lettered in 11 varsity sports - volleyball, basketball and softball (didn’t play softball one year).  She played on three basketball teams that participated in the state finals and was a crucial member of the 1986 team that clinched the state title. 

After graduation from high school, she took her talents to Fresno State where she played softball for the Bulldogs.  She played on three teams that played for the national collegiate championship.  She was a decorated athlete on the field earning both conference player of the year and national All American awards. As a collegiate scholar she was a decorated student twice, earning academic All American awards. 

After college she played professional softball and was a player coach of a world champion softball team.  Carie took her career in a different direction when she began coaching at the collegiate level.  Since taking her first job she has coached 24 years at six different colleges.   Carie is an author, clinician, athletic director, speaker, wife to Bruce, and mom to Max and Macie.  The Dever Boaz family live in Senatobia, Mississippi.  Most of all, Carie is a proud Tiger and now she is a Hall of Fame Tiger.
