Woodlake Unified School District Coaches of the Year 2025
Three incredible champions for athletics within the Woodlake Unified School District have been chosen as the 2025 Coaches of the Year. Their collective outstanding coaching skills and commitment to growing the sports programs within the district are being recognized. “Their passion, dedication, and positive influence on our students make them a true inspiration to us all,” said José Palomo, Athletic Director for WUSD. “On behalf of the entire Tiger Nation, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of our coaches,” he added. Here are the talented 2025 Coaches of the Year.
Coach Manny Martinez
Woodlake High School’s football program has greatly benefited from the talents of Coach Manny Martinez since first joining the program in 2021, and proudly recognize him as a Coach of the Year. He was first named an interim coach halfway through the 2021 season, and then became head coach in 2022. This past year, he led Woodlake to a co-championship with a 7-1 record (8-3 overall). Manny has been coaching football for more than 20 years, both at the youth and high school levels. A proud WHS graduate himself, it’s no surprise Coach Manny is a 2025 Coach of the Year.
Coach Michelle Archuletta
Michelle Archuletta is a health/driver’s ed teacher at WHS, as well as a P.E. teacher at Castle Rock Elementary. She is also the stellar head coach who led the girl’s volleyball team to a Division VI Valley title. Her team went 20-16 (6-2 in the East Sequoia League), and went on to take home the Division VI Central Section title, eventually advancing to the Division V Southern California Semifinals. Michelle joined the coaching team in 2023 after coaching club volleyball in Northern California for many years. A Redwood graduate, Michelle Archuletta is an exemplary coach and mentor.
Coach Eddie Dominguez
Coach Eddie Dominguez has been an integral part of the VUSD and WUSD coaching staff for golf for more than 30 years, and he is a 2025 CIF Central Section-NFHS Coach of the Year. A role model and impactful leader, Eddie’s emphasis on hard work and sportsmanship has shaped the lives of hundreds of student athletes over the years, instilling important values both on and off the course. He firmly believes in the power of sports as a platform for personal growth and development, and has proven this theory through the success of the students he coaches. Needless to say, this recognition for Eddie Dominguez is well-deserved.
