How to Apply for a Scholarship

Deadline: Friday, January 20, 2023 at 3:00PM

Please be sure to submit your application via Google Form BEFORE January 20, 2023 AND turn in the printed application with required signatures and additional documents by 3:00pm on Friday, January 20, 2023 to the counseling office.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum weighted cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

  • Plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college, university, private school or trade program in the 2022-2023 academic school year.

  • Have the total 85 Youth Service Learning hours completed, submitted and approved in Helper Helper by January 20th at 3:00 p.m.

  • Attend a Scholarship Application Interview in March. (WHS Counseling will contact you with a date and time of your interview.)

Required Documents:   

  • The cover sheet with your signature

  • Resume (May use the one from your E-Portfolio, make sure it is updated)

  • 1 to 2 page Essay that includes educational and personal goals, and need for financial assistance for college.  (You can use your Letter of Introduction you wrote for your E-Portfolio and adjust it to include your need for financial assistance. Please describe any special circumstances that may affect your family’s ability to pay for school; medical costs, divorce, unemployment, child support etc.)

  • 1 to 3 Letter(s) of Recommendation from teachers or community members. (You may use one you have collected already for your Portfolio.)
